What Youll Be Doing (position summary):

The Analyst, OTC Settlements is responsible for the timely, accurate, and controlled execution of trade confirmation, settlement, reconciliation, and investigation activities across a range of OTC derivative products supporting the Capital Markets and Treasury businesses.

The role independently manages complex operational issues and stakeholder coordination to support accurate end-to-end processing and effective risk mitigation. The position also contributes to operational improvement and change initiatives through business input, testing, and implementation support.

How Youll Succeed (responsibilities):

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Execute daily trade confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation activities for OTC derivative products accurately, timely, and in accordance with internal controls and operating procedures
  • Independently investigate and resolve complex settlement discrepancies, reconciliation breaks, unmatched items, lifecycle event exceptions, and operational issues within established timelines
  • Manage complex client inquiries and disputes professionally and proactively, coordinating with internal stakeholders to drive timely resolution and minimize operational risk
  • Liaise with Front Office, Trade Control, Finance, Technology, and other relevant teams to validate trade economics, investigate booking or settlement issues, and ensure accurate downstream processing
  • Support activities related to precious metals inventory management, invoice processing, and metal delivery tracking where applicable to business requirements
  • Assess the impact of trade lifecycle events, accounting considerations, and operational dependencies to ensure accurate end-to-end settlement processing
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready records, documentation, and exception logs for settlements, investigations, escalations, and reconciliations
  • Apply a strong risk and control mindset by ensuring all exceptions are properly investigated, documented, escalated, and resolved in line with policy and governance standards
  • Participate in project and change initiatives by contributing to requirements gathering, process design feedback, test case preparation, UAT execution, and implementation support
  • Identify opportunities to improve controls, streamline workflows, enhance system capabilities, and increase operational efficiency across OTC derivatives settlements processes
  • Partners closely with internal stakeholders including Front Office, Trade Control, Finance, Technology, Treasury, Operations leadership, and other support teams to ensure accurate trade settlement, timely issue resolution, and effective exception management
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal business partners, external counterparties, and service providers to support smooth operational execution and resolution of complex inquiries or disputes
  • Works closely with project, change, and technology teams to provide operational input and subject matter expertise in support of system and process enhancements

  • As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Supports end-to-end OTC derivatives settlement and post-trade operational activities across Capital Markets and Treasury, with responsibility for accuracy, timeliness, exception management, and control effectiveness
  • Operates in a high-risk, time-sensitive environment requiring independent judgment to manage complex settlement issues, lifecycle event exceptions, reconciliation breaks, and client-related escalations
  • Requires application of specialized knowledge of OTC derivative products, trade lifecycle events, and operational dependencies to assess impacts and drive resolution across multiple stakeholders
  • Contributes to operational risk mitigation through strong documentation, control discipline, escalation management, and audit readiness

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Capital Markets operations, OTC derivatives settlements, reconciliations, trade support, or a related function
  • Demonstrated experience handling complex OTC derivative products, lifecycle events, settlement exceptions, and reconciliation investigations
  • Prior experience in Precious Metals inventory management at depositories, invoice processing, and metal delivery tracking is highly desirable
  • Proven experience in managing complex operational exceptions, escalations, and stakeholder interactions within a high-volume Capital Markets environment
  • Experience supporting business change or project initiatives, including requirements gathering, design input, testing, and UAT
  • Strong knowledge of OTC derivatives products, settlement workflows, confirmations, reconciliations, lifecycle events, and exception management processes
  • Good understanding of Capital Markets and Treasury operations, including trade capture, validation, accounting impacts, and operational controls
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex discrepancies, interpret transaction data, identify root causes, and implement effective resolutions
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities accurately in a deadline-driven, high-risk environment
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently when handling sensitive issues, escalations, and client-facing matters
  • Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal teams and external partners
  • Continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify process enhancement opportunities and contribute to system and workflow optimization
