Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)
Must-Have**
(Ideally should not be more than 3-5)
OS installation on physical and virtual servers, complete knowledge on OS patching, LVM, server hardening, SAMBA, NFS and NTP. Cloud Infrastructure monitoring and VM administration. Should work in 24*7 support
Good-to-Have
Azure Native Tools for OS patching and configuration changes

Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role

Ability to handle the L2 and L3 issues on Linux servers

Should have Experience in Installing, upgrading and configuring Red Hat Linux 6.x and 7.x version on Physical and Virtual servers

Should have a Knowledge on shell scripts to automate regular tasks.

Should have knowledge to Configuring and administering like LVM, Samba, NFS, NTP, Centrify and Proxy

Should adhere to the SLA and Work on Incident and Change Management

Cloud infrastructure and network monitoring

Cloud service, incident, problem, SLA management
8
Supporting existing and new application infrastructure in Public cloud
9
Support activities needed to implement and maintain security policy & regulator guidelines ( Server hardening)

New VM creation, application setup and security compliance

Application & DB backup, restoration & restoration drills

Cloud asset, resource management

Cloud DR setup & drills

Third-party softwares and tools management.
