About the Role
Chitkara Business School invites applications from experienced academic professionals with substantial prior industry exposure for leadership roles in:
- Retail Management
- Financial Technology (FinTech)
- Commerce
We are seeking candidates who are currently working in academia but have spent a significant part of their careers in industry. The ideal candidate should be capable of applying real-world business knowledge to curriculum development, industry collaborations, experiential learning, and student employability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide academic and strategic leadership for the respective domain.
- Develop curricula aligned with current industry practices, emerging technologies, and future workforce requirements.
- Build strong corporate partnerships for internships, live projects, placements, certifications, research, and industry-led learning.
- Integrate industry case studies, contemporary tools, and real-world business challenges into academic delivery.
- Mentor faculty members and promote industry exposure, applied research, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Introduce new specialisations and academic initiatives based on evolving market trends.
- Strengthen student employability, entrepreneurship, innovation, and industry readiness.
Qualifications and Experience
- Postgraduate degree in Management, Commerce, Finance, FinTech, Retail, or a related discipline; a Ph.D. is preferred.
- Preferably 15–20 years of combined academic and industry experience, including substantial relevant industry exposure.
- Currently working in academia, academic leadership, or institution-building.
- Strong expertise in Retail Management, FinTech, Commerce, or a related business discipline.
- Proven experience in curriculum development, faculty mentoring, programme management, or academic transformation.
- Ability to convert emerging industry practices and technologies into meaningful student learning.
- Strong corporate network and experience in industry–academia collaboration will be highly preferred.
