Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable High School Geography Teacher to teach Geography in accordance with the ICSE curriculum. The candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, concept-based lessons, developing students‘ geographical understanding and analytical skills, and preparing students effectively for ICSE examinations.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective Geography lessons for Classes IX and X as per the ICSE syllabus.
• Develop lesson plans, teaching resources, worksheets, presentations, maps, diagrams, and other instructional materials.
• Teach key geographical concepts including physical geography, climate, natural vegetation, resources, agriculture, industries, transport, population, and environmental issues, as prescribed by the ICSE curriculum.
• Develop students‘ skills in map reading, interpretation, topographical maps, data analysis, diagrams, graphs, and geographical reasoning.
• Integrate practical and activity-based learning into classroom teaching.
• Use appropriate technology and digital resources to make lessons engaging and interactive.
• Conduct regular assessments, assignments, class tests, projects, and examinations.
• Analyse student performance and provide timely feedback and remedial support.
• Prepare students for ICSE board examinations, with emphasis on conceptual understanding, application, map work, and examination skills.
• Guide students in completing Geography projects and practical/field-based assignments where applicable.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, grades, and student progress.
• Identify students requiring additional academic support and provide appropriate intervention.
• Encourage students to develop awareness of current environmental, geographical, and sustainability-related issues.
• Participate in departmental meetings, school events, professional development programmes, and other academic activities.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress when required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor‘s or Master‘s degree in Geography or a related discipline.
• B.Ed. or equivalent teacher-training qualification.
• Strong understanding of the ICSE Geography curriculum and examination pattern.
• Excellent communication and classroom-management skills.
• Proficiency in English.
• Ability to use digital teaching tools and educational technology effectively.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience teaching ICSE Classes IX–X.
• Experience preparing students for ICSE Board examinations.
• Strong knowledge of topographical maps, map work, geographical data interpretation, and field/project work.
• Familiarity with competency-based and activity-oriented teaching methodologies.
• Experience with smart classrooms, LMS platforms, Google Workspace/Microsoft Office, or similar educational technology.
