Job Duties/Essential Functions:
- The Manager provides leadership and effective management of team members as outlined inIT Management Role and Responsibilities
- Leads and develops a multidisciplinary team that may include Product Owners, Analytics Translators, Data Engineers, BI Engineers, Data Analysts, and Quality Engineers , SRE, and Operations teams located across regions or time zones.
- Builds organizational capability by assessing workforce capacity and skill gaps, developing hiring and training plans, mentoring emerging leaders, and creating clear career paths.
- Creates an inclusive, high-accountability environment in which different perspectives are actively sought, employees understand how their work contributes to business outcomes, and teams can raise risks or concerns early.
- Defines and executes a multi-year global BI and data analytics strategy, product portfolio, and roadmap aligned with enterprise priorities, regional needs, and the broader data and technology strategy.
- Establishes a global operating model that combines enterprise standards and reusable data products with appropriate flexibility for regional and functional business requirements.
- Translates strategy into measurable objectives, quarterly priorities, delivery plans, resource and budget requirements, and clear accountability for outcomes.
- Leads demand intake, value assessment, prioritization, dependency management, and sequencing across competing business needs; communicates tradeoffs and decisions transparently to senior stakeholders.
- Maintains strong partnerships with business executives, data owners, technology leaders, product teams, and regional stakeholders and serves as a trusted advisor on reporting, analytics, measurement, and decision support.
- Provides technical direction across data preparation, ingestion, transformation, modeling, semantic layers, APIs, and consumption patterns required to support enterprise BI and analytics use cases.
- Partners with enterprise architecture, cloud, data platform, security, and engineering teams to design scalable solutions across data warehouses, lakehouses, data lakes, operational data stores, and related cloud services.
- Ensures solutions meet defined standards for availability, reliability, performance, scalability, observability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization, including service-level objectives and operational support procedures.
- Promotes engineering discipline through reusable patterns, version control, automated testing, CI/CD, release management, code review, documentation, and root-cause-based continuous improvement.
- Owns or influences platform and vendor roadmaps, licensing and capacity decisions, service performance, and partner accountability for BI and analytics technologies.
- Develops and manages team operating plans, capacity, budgets, vendor relationships, licensing, contracts, and financial forecasts as assigned.
- Establishes transparent operating rhythms, portfolio reviews, risk and dependency tracking, delivery metrics, and executive communications.
- Maintains regular and reliable workplace attendance at the assigned location and collaborates effectively across global time zones as business needs require.
- Leads the end-to-end lifecycle of BI and analytics products from discovery and requirements through design, engineering, testing, release, enablement, adoption, support, enhancement, and retirement.
- Ensures reports, dashboards, scorecards, KPIs, and analytical applications are intuitive, decision-oriented, accessible, and aligned with enterprise UI/UX and visualization standards.

Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications:
- Ten or more years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data analytics, data engineering, data products, reporting systems, software development, or a related discipline.
- Three or more years of formal people-leadership experience managing and developing technical or analytical professionals; experience leading multidisciplinary teams is strongly desired.
- Demonstrated experience defining BI or analytics strategy and roadmaps and delivering enterprise data products from business discovery through adoption and operational support.
- Experience operating in a complex, matrixed organization and partnering with senior leaders across multiple functions, business units, regions, or time zones.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise BI and visualization practices and deep experience with at least one platform such as Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, BusinessObjects / Web Intelligence, or a comparable tool.
- Strong SQL, dimensional and analytical data modeling, semantic layer, data warehousing or lakehouse, ELT / ETL, and data integration knowledge sufficient to guide engineering teams and evaluate solution quality.
- Experience with a major cloud data and analytics platform such as Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, or an equivalent enterprise platform.
- Working knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata and lineage, access controls, privacy, security, and audit requirements.
- Experience with Agile product delivery, DevOps practices, release and change management, automated testing, and production support for business-critical data products.
- Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and executive presentation skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts into business value and influence decisions without direct authority.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent education and relevant professional experience.
Preferred:
- Ten or more years of relevant experience and five or more years leading BI, analytics, or data engineering teams in a global enterprise environment.
- Retail, wholesale, membership, supply chain, finance, merchandising, operations, e-commerce, pharmacy, or other large-scale consumer business experience.
- Experience with technologies such as BigQuery, Azure Synapse or Fabric, Databricks and Delta Live Tables, Snowflake, Oracle Data Warehouse, SAP BW, Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, BusinessObjects / Web Intelligence, Alteryx, Python, or R.
- Experience leading BI modernization, cloud migration, enterprise metric standardization, self-service enablement, or legacy platform retirement programs.
- Practical experience identifying and implementing responsible AI / ML, forecasting, experimentation, automation, or generative AI use cases within an analytics environment.
- Experience managing vendors, budgets, licenses, capacity planning, contracts, and platform cost optimization.
- Master's degree in a related field and / or relevant certifications in cloud, analytics, data management, Agile product management, or organizational change management.
- Successful internal candidates will have spent one year or more on their current team.
