Position Summary:
As an HR Manager at Costco India, you will serve as a key pillar in the HR team, acting as a trusted advisor to employees and management alike. You will be instrumental in fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture that aligns with Costcos core values. This is a hands-on role where you will manage the full lifecycle of the employee experience, ensuring that our policies, benefits, and development programs not only meet compliance standards but actively enhance the day-to-day lives of our team members.
Job Duties/Essential Functions:
Employee Experience & Engagement:
- Design and execute initiatives that boost morale, belonging, and engagement across the organization.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee queries, providing timely, empathetic, and accurate support.
- Facilitate communication forums (surveys, town halls) to identify trends and drive organizational improvements.
Policy & Compliance:
- Interpret, implement, and communicate HR policies, ensuring they are applied consistently and fairly across all levels.
- Stay abreast of changing labor laws and regulations in India, ensuring organizational policies remain compliant and up-to-date.
- Manage HR documentation, personnel records, and internal audits with precision and confidentiality.
Benefits & Total Rewards:
- Educate employees on the value and usage of their benefits to maximize utilization and satisfaction.
- Run the performance management and year end increment cycle in line with Costcos performance & compensation philosophy
Operational Excellence:
- Partner with the Director - HR and cross-functional teams to streamline HR workflows and internal processes.
- Support special projects as identified in the HR roadmap, including intern program management and culture-building initiatives.
Non-Essential Functions:
- Responsible for continued personal growth in the areas of technology, business knowledge and company policies and platforms.
- Assists in other areas of the department as necessary.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
- 7+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar People Operations role, preferably within a Global Capability Center (GCC) or fast-paced corporate environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Indian labor laws, statutory compliance, and payroll integration.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive employee relations matters with discretion, objectivity, and empathy.
- Excellent communication skills, with a passion for building relationships and advocating for the employee experience.
Recommended:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a Masters degree (MBA-HR) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices.
- Proficient in Google Workspace applications, including Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Gmail.
