Mainframe Tester – DB2 (Hybrid – Any Infosys Location in India)

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Tester with 4+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe application testing. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of Mainframe screen navigation, functional testing, data validation, and DB2 database validation.

The candidate should be comfortable working with Mainframe applications, executing test scenarios, validating application behavior, and verifying backend data updates in DB2.

• Perform functional and system testing of Mainframe applications.
• Navigate and validate Mainframe screens and application flows.
• Execute test cases based on business and functional requirements.
• Validate input/output data across different Mainframe screens.
• Verify that transactions and business processes are working as expected.
• Perform DB2 database validation to ensure records are correctly inserted, updated, or deleted.
• Write and execute SQL queries for data validation in DB2.
• Identify, document, and track defects using the organization‘s defect management tool.
• Perform defect retesting and regression testing.
• Analyze test failures and work closely with developers/business teams to resolve issues.
• Prepare and maintain test cases, test data, and test execution reports.
• Participate in requirement discussions and provide testing estimates and inputs.
• Ensure adequate test coverage for assigned functionalities.
• Communicate testing status, risks, issues, and defects effectively to stakeholders.

• 4+ years of experience in Mainframe Testing.
• Hands-on experience with Mainframe screen navigation and transaction processing.
• Strong understanding of functional testing and system testing.
• Experience validating data in DB2.
• Good knowledge of DB2 SQL queries for backend validation.
• Ability to validate data across Mainframe screens and DB2 tables.
• Experience in defect management and test execution.
• Good understanding of SDLC/STLC and QA processes.
• Experience in regression testing and defect retesting.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Knowledge of JCL.
• Knowledge of COBOL and basic understanding of Mainframe programs.
• Experience with CICS/TSO/ISPF.
• Knowledge of VSAM and Mainframe file validation.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Exposure to Mainframe automation/testing tools would be an advantage.
