Job Description

Role: Networking SI

Location: Pune/Bangalore/Chennai

Experience: 6-12 Years


Must-Have

Role & Responsibilities: -

  • Network Engineer (L1) focus on first line support for standard and low complexity incidents and maintains the Networking environmental and monitoring equipment.
  • Monitor infrastructure
  • Identify problems and errors
  • Ensure that the assigned infrastructure at the client is configured, installed, tested and operational.
  • Report and escalate issues to 3rd party vendors if necessary.
  • Network L1 Eng to be responsible for producing Health check and other reports that are necessary for the correct operation of processes
  • Provide telephonic support to clients when required and update the relevant systems as per standard process
  • Perform the necessary hand over procedures in cases where shift work is required.
  • Must have good process knowledge about Incident Management Change & Vendor engagement process
  • To troubleshoot equipment and network problems, participate in critical maintenance windows, and to open and track TAC cases through to problem resolution on pre and postproduction issues.
  • To raise equipment, Return Material Authorizations (RMA’s) and to track these through to problem resolution



Technical Requirement: -

  • Monitoring Tool Exp (Mandate)- Spectrum, Solar Winds, HP NNMi etc
  • Strong knowledge Switching & Routing / LAN, WAN internet and intranet network troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
  • Good networking protocols and standards such as TCP/IP, OSI, UDP, Layer2(VLANS, STP, VTP), Routing Protocols (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP) WAN technologies (IPsec, VPNs, MPLS, Qos)
  • Troubleshoot various issues like Link down, packet drops, Link flapping ect
  • Knowledge of redundant protocols HSRP, VRRP and GLBP.
  • L2 Security: MAC, ACL, Port Security, VLAN, VTP, STP, RSTP. Knowledge on working with wireless LAN Controller’s, Cisco Meraki, Cisco AP’S, Standalone AP’S.
  • Implement and manage effectiveness of Incident, Service Request, Change management processes for the service area


Good-to-Have

CCNA /CCNP Certification is a must
