Job Description

Key Roles & Responsibilities


1. Academic Delivery & Curriculum Planning

  • Teach Senior Secondary classes (Grades 11 & 12) strictly aligning with the Maharashtra State Board Chemistry syllabus.
  • Break down complex units spanning Physical, Organic, and Inorganic Chemistry into comprehensive, structured lesson plans.
  • Conduct high-engagement classroom sessions optimized for students with diverse learning speeds.


2. Practical Lab Supervision & Safety

  • Conduct practical lab sessions in the college’s dedicated Chemistry Laboratory.
  • Collaborate closely with lab assistants to maintain inventory, manage safety standards, and organize practical work files.
  • Prepare and guide students for internal board-mandated practical exams and project assessments.


3. Assessment, Moderation & Board Prep

  • Design, moderate, and evaluate periodic unit tests, terminal papers, and pre-board examinations based on state board blue-prints.
  • Spearhead the college's specialized Performance Improvement Programme (PIP) through target-oriented revision and doubt-solving.
  • Train students in board-style answering techniques to optimize their final HSC scores.


4. Competitive Exam Assistance & Training

  • Cooperate with external integrated institutional partners to guide students on basic competitive exam strategies (e.g., MHT-CET, JEE Main, NEET).
  • Participate in professional upskilling workshops organized via the SVKM Teacher's Training Program.


Minimum Eligibility Criteria

  • Academic Degree: Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Physical Chemistry from a recognized university.
  • Teaching Degree: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) completed or equivalent degree registered under State government mandates.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of senior secondary / Junior College teaching experience is highly preferred.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; ability to communicate in Marathi or Gujarati is a strong institutional asset.
