Job Description

Swami Dayananda Saraswati Vidyalaya, Roorkee, is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Pre-Primary Academic Coordinator to lead and strengthen the academic programme for the Pre-Primary section.

The ideal candidate should have strong classroom understanding, leadership skills, and a passion for early childhood education, play-based learning, experiential learning, and holistic child development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and monitor the academic programme for Pre-Primary classes.
  • Guide, mentor, and support Pre-Primary teachers.
  • Monitor lesson planning, classroom teaching, assessments, and student progress.
  • Ensure effective implementation of play-based, activity-based, and experiential learning.
  • Promote age-appropriate teaching practices aligned with NEP 2020 and Foundational Stage learning principles.
  • Encourage the use of stories, rhymes, games, hands-on activities, and creative learning experiences.
  • Coordinate academic activities, celebrations, and special events.
  • Support effective communication with parents regarding students' learning and development.
  • Maintain academic records and prepare regular academic updates.
  • Work closely with the Principal and academic team for continuous improvement.
  • Promote a safe, joyful, inclusive, and child-friendly learning environment.
Candidate Profile
  • Graduate/Postgraduate with relevant qualifications in Education / Early Childhood Education / ECCE.
  • Prior experience in Pre-Primary teaching or academic coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of Play-Based Learning, Experiential Learning, Activity-Based Learning, and Foundational Literacy & Numeracy.
  • Good understanding of NEP 2020 and its approach to Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE).
  • Strong communication, classroom management, mentoring, and leadership skills.
  • Good command of English communication.
  • Passionate about working with young children and promoting holistic development.
  • Ability to mentor teachers and coordinate academic programmes effectively.
