SDE Intern (Founding Team) | AI x Developer Tools | Remote

Repowise
Bangalore

Job Description

Company Description

Repowise is a codebase intelligence platform that makes AI coding agents actually understand the code they work on. It scores every file in a repo for how likely it is to cause bugs, locates where the risk concentrates through a real dependency graph and git history, and generates the exact fix, all from one local index with zero LLM calls. With 2,500+ GitHub stars and enterprise users already running it in production, Repowise is building the trust layer for an era where AI writes a growing share of the code.

Role Description

Build and ship production-grade features across the indexing engine and AI-agent tooling

Work on core platform systems: code parsing, dependency-graph construction, and git-history analysis

Contribute to the code-health engine (defect prediction, refactoring intelligence) and the MCP tools that feed Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex

Improve performance, scalability, and accuracy of analysis across large real-world codebases

Collaborate directly with the founders on product, architecture, and technical direction

Debug, test, and maintain clean, deterministic, well-tested code

Take ownership of features from idea to deployment

Tech Stack (Exposure You'll Get)

Python, FastAPI, tree-sitter, git internals, vector search, Docker, MCP, and LLM integrations, applied to static code analysis across 15 languages

Qualifications

Strong fundamentals in Data Structures, Algorithms, and core Computer Science concepts

Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python preferred; C++, Go, or Rust a plus)

Hands-on experience with backend development or systems-style projects

Good problem-solving and debugging skills, comfort reading code you didn't write

Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment

Strong interest in developer tools, compilers/parsers, program analysis, or AI agents

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)

Nice to Have (Not Mandatory)

Experience with static analysis, ASTs, tree-sitter, or graph data structures

Experience building real-world projects (personal, open-source, or startup work)

Familiarity with MCP or AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex)

Why Join Repowise (Founding Engineer Experience)

Work directly with the founding team on a product developers genuinely love (2,500+ stars and counting)

Ship features used by engineering teams and enterprises running Repowise in production

Go deep on hard problems: program analysis, graph construction, defect prediction, agent tooling, no busywork

High ownership, fast learning, and meaningful impact from day one

Build in the open: real contributions to a fast-growing developer tool with a public footprint

Flexible, remote-first environment focused on builders and execution
