significantly ramp-up its growth over the next 18-24 months while servicing MUFGs global network across Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific KYC Operations: the objective is to provide a best-in-class KYC process. It ensures that KYC profiles are prepared in accordance with Group and Regulatory Policy, obtaining documents as required from the client/ relationship manager, undertaking all the necessary due diligence checks, and ensuring appropriate escalation is followed according to Policy.

The KYCS Service function has onshore hubs in Japan, Americas, EMEA, Singapore and Hong Kong. KYC Operations is responsible for providing centralized KYC production, validation of clients in support of both client on boarding and periodic maintenance of client information. It has been tasked with creating a KYC profile service to provide a consistent approach for KYC across the countries of the Group as part of the overall Global Standards. The organization is expected to go through a transformation where new policies, processes and technologies will be implemented.

Position: KYC Senior Analyst / Process Excellence Associate

Location: Bangalore, India

Role Purpose:

  • Drive process governance, knowledge management, and quality excellence across the FI KYC function by interpreting and cascading policy updates, maintaining procedures and training frameworks, providing process guidance, and ensuring consistent adherence to regulatory and operational standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement and operational effectiveness initiatives through stakeholder collaboration, quality enhancement, complex case resolution, management reporting, onboarding support, and implementation of process, system, and workflow efficiencies across MGS and Tokyo GKYCO operations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and Cascade Updates - Review and interpret process and policy updates, ensuring timely and accurate communication to the team.
  • Maintain Job Aides - Update job aides to reflect all process and policy changes, ensuring alignment with current standards.
  • Provide Process Guidance - Act as a point of contact for process and policy-related queries, ensuring cases are resolved within expected timelines.
  • Build a Query Repository - Create and maintain a comprehensive library of team queries and resolutions for future reference and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate for Knowledge Sharing - Liaise with GKYCO SMEs, QCs, and the CO team to facilitate cross- functional knowledge sharing and alignment.
  • Develop Training Plans - Design structured training plans for new joiners to ensure smooth onboarding and process understanding.
  • Conduct Trainings - Deliver training sessions for new joiners and existing team members on process/policy updates and refresher topics based on QA/QC feedback.
  • Support QA Feedback Calls - Participate in QA feedback discussions, offering expert guidance on FI KYC processes and policies.
  • Drive Quality Initiatives - Lead quality improvement efforts to consistently maintain quality KPIs in the green zone.
  • Resolve Complex Cases - Provide support in resolving complex cases by coordinating with Makers, QCs, and the CO team.
  • Management Support - Support the management and continuous improvement of KYC operations by driving process governance, MI reporting, procedure maintenance, and operational oversight across MGS activities.
  • Process Excellence - Lead process enhancement initiatives, identify efficiency opportunities, and coordinate implementation of operational, system, and workflow improvements in collaboration with Tokyo GKYCO. Provide support for planning, onboarding activities, master data management, access/system administration, and various operational management tasks.

Skills required:

  • KYC / AML Subject Matter Expertise Strong understanding of FI KYC processes, policies, regulatory requirements, customer due diligence, and risk assessment frameworks.
  • Process Governance & Policy Interpretation Ability to interpret process and policy updates, assess impacts, and effectively communicate changes to stakeholders.
  • Training & Knowledge Management Capability to develop training materials, deliver training sessions, maintain job aides, and build knowledge repositories.
  • Stakeholder Management & Collaboration Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with GKYCO SMEs, QCs, Compliance Office (CO), Operations teams, and management.
  • Quality Management & Continuous Improvement Experience in driving quality initiatives, conducting root cause analysis, identifying trends, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making Ability to analyse complex cases, provide guidance, and facilitate timely resolutions while ensuring policy compliance.
  • Process Improvement & Change Management Skills in identifying efficiency opportunities, recommending enhancements, and supporting implementation of operational and system improvements.
  • Communication & Presentation Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills for training delivery, stakeholder engagement, and update cascades.
  • Documentation & Procedure Management Expertise in maintaining procedures, job aides, process documentation, and governance records with high accuracy.
  • Data Analysis & MI Reporting Ability to prepare, analyse, and present management information (MI), quality metrics, and operational performance reports.
  • Project Coordination & Operational Management Experience managing onboarding activities, access administration, master data management, and operational support initiatives.
  • Leadership & Coaching Skills Ability to influence teams, provide guidance, foster knowledge sharing, and promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to think from various angles and be proactive
  • Ability to work under time pressure with high degree of accuracy
  • Experience with AML / KYC tools such as SWIFT KYC Registry, Factiva, Bankers Almanac, RDC, Internet Research, Fenergo, etc.
  • Self-driven personality with Positive can do attitude.

Experience:

  • Total 4-6 years of Customer Due Diligence / Enhanced Due Diligence and Minimum 1 year of experience as a checker role/ SME/ Financial Crime and Compliance Consultant.
  • Minimum Qualification: Graduation in Commerce/Finance or equivalent would be essential
  • Flexibility to work in different shift timings
  • Good understanding of MS office and proven skills on banking platforms
  • Additional certification: ACAMS, ICA, IIBF KYC and other Financial Crime Certifications (Optional)
