Senior Director, Medical Affairs
Ocular Surface Programme
Reports to the Chief Executive Officer · Based in India, with recurring in-person presence in the United Arab Emirates
This is a scientific-fidelity role, not a clinical-operations role. Trial execution sits with a contract research organisation. Study design sits with the CEO. This role owns the transmission of the design into the clinic: that investigators understand it, apply it correctly, and that any drift is detected early and escalated — never quietly absorbed
. Design fidelity in the clinic
- Own investigator training on the tissue-state eligibility framework, the structural grading scales, and patientreported outcome administration, across all participating sites and indications.
Investigator, expert and institutional engagement
- Act as principal scientific relationship owner for UAE clinical partners and health-authority stakeholders.
- Sustain and deepen the established investigator relationships in India and Japan.
Evidence and publication strategy
- Own the publication plan for a study intended to be a landmark first-in-human result, and drive it to delivery.
- Set congress and scientific-communication strategy.
Requirements
- Medical degree, with 10+ years in medical affairs and substantial depth in ophthalmology.
- Demonstrated ownership of multi-site, multi-investigator scientific standardisation or diagnostic-competency programmes — at scale, and with measurable outcomes.
Regional medical strategy experience across emerging, Middle East or Asia-Pacific markets
The first twelve months — what success looks like
- Investigator training and grading calibration complete and documented before first patient in.
- Measured inter-rater reliability on the structural grading axes across all opening-stage sites, meeting a prespecified threshold.
- Every eligibility decision documented against the framework; borderline cases escalated, none absorbed.
Publication plan agreed and in motion, with the first outputs scoped
