Role Overview & What We Look For
As a Software ToolHub Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing industrial and automotive diagnostic software applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performance diagnostic solutions that interface with multiple hardware devices and communication protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnostics Application Development
- Design, develop, and maintain diagnostic software applications for industrial and automotive systems.
- Develop robust and maintainable software solutions using Python and PySide/PyQt.
Device Communication & Integration
- Interface with hardware using standard communication protocols such as USB, Ethernet, RS-232, CAN, LIN, I2C, SPI, and Modbus.
- Implement real-time data exchange, device communication, and system diagnostics.
Software Development & Implementation
- Implement, test, debug, and optimize software features in line with project and industry requirements.
- Develop modular, scalable, and maintainable software architectures.
User Interface & Data Visualization
- Develop intuitive graphical user interfaces for real-time signal monitoring, diagnostics, and data visualization.
- Build desktop applications using Qt Framework with PySide/PyQt.
Testing & Troubleshooting
- Perform systematic testing, debugging, and root-cause analysis to ensure robust and stable application performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with hardware, testing, and system teams to ensure seamless integration and timely delivery.
Documentation & Stakeholder Interaction
- Create and maintain technical documentation, integration guides, and user manuals.
- Engage with stakeholders to clarify requirements and track development progress.
Core Competencies
Mandatory Skills
- Strong programming and development skills in Python – Mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with PySide or PyQt for GUI/application development.
- Experience with the Qt Framework (C++ or PySide/PyQt).
- Experience developing industrial or automotive diagnostic applications.
- Strong understanding of software development, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with hardware communication and integration.
Important Technical Skills
- Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Modbus.
- Experience with data visualization and graphical signal representation.
- Knowledge of embedded programming and system integration.
- Hands-on experience with Git and version control systems.
- Good understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Good to Have / Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of QML (Qt Modeling Language).
- Understanding of Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM) architecture.
- Experience with C++.
- Exposure to MATLAB/Simulink, Vector CANoe, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of RTOS or Embedded Linux.
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Understanding of device encryption and decryption mechanisms.
