Job Title: Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Security

Location: India (Remote)

Availability requirement: Minimum 15-20 hours per week


Core Qualifications:


  • Relevant Educational Degree: A bachelor's or advanced degree in Forensic Science, Biology, Chemistry, Criminology, or a closely related STEM field.


  • Applied Industry Experience: Practical, real-world experience working in a forensic laboratory, law enforcement, or crime scene investigation (CSI) setting.


  • Familiarity with Legal Procedures: A strong understanding of the chain of custody and how scientific evidence is properly collected, preserved, and presented as admissible evidence in court.


Course-Specific Expertise:


  • Broad Forensic Knowledge: Demonstrated competency across the varied scientific disciplines covered in the course, such as DNA analysis, toxicology, physical anthropology, and computer forensics.


  • Career Pathway Insight: Up-to-date knowledge of the daily duties, educational requirements, certifications, and realities of various forensic careers, as this specific course places a heavy emphasis on career exploration.


  • Simulation Assessment Skills: The ability to accurately evaluate the realism, educational value, and safety of practical course projects, such as mock crime-scene investigations or the development of cybersecurity plans.


  • Curriculum Familiarity: Prior experience reviewing or teaching high-school-level educational materials to ensure the scientific concepts are engaging, age-appropriate, and pedagogically sound.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review law, public safety, and forensic science content.
  • Recommend corrections to improve technical accuracy.
  • Review SBs for technical accuracy, pedagogy, grade-level appropriateness, and investigative case studies.
  • Review multimedia assets, including images, videos, animations, and interactives, for legal, procedural and subject accuracy, and instructional effectiveness.
  • Identify content gaps, inconsistencies, and required revisions
  • Verify assessments, activities, and learning objectives for alignment and rigor.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers, content developers, editors, and media teams.
  • Participate in review meetings, team calls, and project discussions.
  • Ensure high-quality, objectives-aligned content prior to final publication.
