Systems / Service Designer

MathCo is a data and AI analytics and solutions company. We're floating a new role for someone who thinks in systems, not screens — designing end-to-end services and the systems behind them, then shaping experiences that make complex, AI-driven systems intelligible, trustworthy, and adopted. A hybrid of service design, systems thinking, and hands-on UX, with AI as a material you design with and for.

What you will do:

• Map complex service ecosystems end to end — actors, flows, data, decision points — and spot where AI adds leverage versus friction
• Turn systems insight into service blueprints, journey maps, and interaction models
• Design UX for AI products: conversation flows, human-in-the-loop, confidence and uncertainty, graceful failure
• Prototype and test with real users; iterate on evidence, not opinion
• Work upstream in solutioning — proposals, capability narratives, POCs — so design intent lands early

What you will bring

• High proficiency in systems thinking —interdependencies, second-order effects, leverage point
• Strong UX craft — research, IA, interaction design, prototyping; a portfolio of outcome
• Genuine AI fluency — design responsibly around model capabilities and limit
• Service design fundamentals: blueprinting, journey mapping, facilitatio
• Comfort in ambiguity; strong communication and cross functional facilitatio

• Data products, dashboards, or analytics tooling
• Enterprise / B2B, multi-stakeholder engagements
• Design systems and prototyping tooling.
