Job Description

Technical Lead – Systems Engineering & Embedded Systems

Location: Hyderabad | Experience: 8–10 years

Industry: Medical Devices / Healthcare Technology

We are looking for a hands-on Systems Engineer / Technical Lead to lead the architecture, development and integration of a next-generation medical device.

This role is for someone who can understand the complete product as a system—firmware, electronics, sensors, actuators, controls, HMI, communications, fluidics and mechanical interfaces—and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team from requirements through design, integration, verification, validation and production release.

Key Responsibilities

* Own the system architecture and systems engineering of the product.

* Translate product, clinical and safety needs into clear system/subsystem requirements and interfaces.

* Lead integration across firmware, electronics, sensors, actuators, HMI, communications, fluidics and mechanical systems.

* Provide hands-on technical leadership for embedded firmware architecture and C/C++ development.

* Define system states, control sequences, alarms, interlocks, fault handling and safe-state behaviour.

* Lead system-level troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and resolution of complex HW/FW/mechanical integration issues.

* Drive requirements → design → integration → verification & validation → release.

* Work with QA/RA on risk management, design controls, traceability and regulatory compliance.

* Establish robust practices for code reviews, testing, version control, configuration management and technical documentation.

* Mentor and technically guide firmware, electronics, biomedical and mechanical engineers.

* Support design transfer and development of a reliable, manufacturable and production-ready product.

Required Experience & Skills

* 8–10 years in medical devices, healthcare equipment or safety-critical embedded product development.

* Strong experience in System Architecture, Systems Engineering and System Integration.

* Strong hands-on experience in Embedded C/C++ and microcontroller-based systems.

* Good understanding of electronics, sensors, ADCs, actuators, motors/pumps, control systems and communication protocols.

* Experience with requirements management, risk analysis, system integration, V&V and product release.

* Strong debugging and structured root-cause analysis capabilities.

* Experience leading and mentoring multidisciplinary engineering teams.

* Working knowledge of medical-device quality systems and design controls is essential.

Strongly Preferred

Experience with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, IEC 60601 and IEC 62366-1, particularly taking a medical device through formal V&V, certification or commercial release.

Experience with fluid-control systems, pumps/valves, pressure/flow/conductivity sensors, closed-loop control, dialysis, medical fluid systems or water purification would be a significant advantage.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a technical owner—not just a project manager. Someone capable of defining architecture at the system level while remaining comfortable reviewing code, debugging hardware, analysing control behaviour and solving difficult integration problems.

If you have successfully taken a complex electromechanical medical device from architecture to a validated and production-ready product, we would like to hear from you.
