Configure and manage Veeam Backup & Replication
Create and maintain:
Backup jobs (VM, physical, agent-based)
Backup copy jobs
Replication jobs
Perform:
Full, Incremental, Synthetic full backups
Application-aware backups (SQL, Exchange, AD)
Execute restore operations:
File-level recovery
VM instant recovery
Application item-level recovery
Infrastructure & Configuration
Manage Veeam components:
Backup Server
Proxy Servers
Backup Repositories
Configure:
Scale-Out Backup Repository (SOBR)
Capacity tier (Object Storage – S3, Azure Blob)
Integrate with:
VMware vSphere (vCenter, ESXi)
Microsoft Hyper-V
Configure Veeam Agents (Windows/Linux)
Storage & Performance
Configure storage targets:
Direct Attached Storage (DAS)
SAN / NAS (iSCSI, NFS, SMB)
Implement:
Deduplication and compression
Storage tiering
Optimize:
Backup throughput
Proxy and repository performance
Manage repository capacity and growth planning
Monitoring & Troubleshooting
Monitor backup jobs using Veeam Console and Veeam ONE
Analyze logs and resolve issues:
Job failures
Snapshot issues
Network bottlenecks
Repository access failures
Perform root cause analysis (RCA)
Troubleshoot:
VMware snapshot consolidation issues
Backup chain corruption
Proxy/repository connectivity issues
Disaster Recovery & Replication
Configure and manage:
VM replication
Failover and failback
Perform DR drills and testing
Ensure RPO/RTO compliance
Manage offsite backups and DR copies
Automation & Scripting
Use PowerShell (Veeam cmdlets) for:
Job automation
Reporting
Bulk configuration changes
Schedule automated backup health checks
Security & Compliance
Implement:
Immutable backups (Hardened Linux Repository)
Encryption (at-rest and in-transit)
Manage RBAC and access controls
Protect against ransomware (air-gapped backups, object lock)
