Platform Reliability & Performance Engineer

About the Role:

At Abercrombie & Fitch, the Platform Reliability & Performance Engineer focuses on application delivery health, CI/CD reliability, performance monitoring, and platform optimization. This role provides proactive engineering support for release pipelines, performance initiatives, and observability programs supporting our global eCommerce platforms.

The primary goal of this role is to improve deployment reliability, identify release risks, monitor performance trends, and support engineering teams through data-driven analysis.

This position reports to Devika and works closely with DSRE, DRE, CDET, application development teams, and platform engineering teams.

What Will You Be Doing:

  • Review GitLab pipelines and CI/CD execution results to identify failures, bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities.
  • Monitor Jenkins jobs and deployment pipelines running during India morning hours and provide proactive callouts.
  • Review Stage and Pre-Production deployment activity, including critical North America deployment windows.
  • Analyze deployment trends and recurring pipeline failures.
  • Support application performance reviews using Dynatrace and related observability platforms.
  • Assist with application performance testing initiatives and performance validation activities.
  • Partner with engineers to identify opportunities for deployment automation and platform optimization.
  • Utilize Splunk and Dynatrace data to perform deeper analysis of recurring platform issues.
  • Review service health indicators after releases and major deployments.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and operational metrics supporting engineering teams.
  • Assist with capacity planning, performance trending, and release readiness efforts.
  • Support GitLab, Jenkins, and platform engineering process improvements.
  • Develop automated reports and tooling to improve visibility into platform performance and deployment health.
  • Contribute to observability, monitoring, and reliability engineering initiatives.

What Do You Need To Bring:

  • 5-6 years years of experience supporting CI/CD platforms, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Engineering teams.
  • Experience with GitLab similar pipeline technologies
  • GitLab CI/CD administration experience.
  • Experience working with Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, or equivalent observability platforms.
  • Kubernetes experience.
  • Understanding of release management and software delivery processes.
  • Experience troubleshooting deployment and application performance issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation capabilities.

Nice to Have:

  • Performance testing experience (LoadRunner, JMeter, k6, Dynatrace, etc.).
  • GitLab CI/CD administration experience.
  • Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform preferred).
  • AIOps, automation, or AI engineering tool experience.
  • Experience supporting large-scale eCommerce applications.
  • Experience creating dashboards,reports and operational metrics.
