Site Reliability & Operations Engineer

About the Role:

At Abercrombie & Fitch, the Site Reliability & Operations Engineer is responsible for proactive monitoring, issue detection, operational health reviews, and incident analysis supporting our global eCommerce platforms. This role serves as an extension of the DSRE, DRE, and CDET teams, providing early-morning operational coverage from our Global Capability Center (GCC) in India.

The primary goal of this role is to identify and communicate potential issues before they impact customers, engineering teams, or business operations. Leveraging observability, monitoring, and incident management platforms, this engineer will review system health, investigate anomalies, and provide actionable insights to engineering teams.

This position reports to Devika and partners closely with Site Reliability Engineering (DSRE), Digital Reliability Engineering (DRE), Content Delivery & Engineering Tooling (CDET), and application delivery teams.

What Will You Be Doing:

  • Perform daily operational reviews of platform health across production and pre-production environments.
  • Review ServiceNow incidents, alerts, and support queues and identify items requiring escalation or engineering follow-up.
  • Monitor Dynatrace dashboards, alerts, and service health indicators for anomalies or degradation.
  • Review FullStory dashboards and customer sessions to identify user experience concerns, checkout issues, and emerging trends.
  • Analyze Splunk dashboards and logs to investigate application, infrastructure, and service anomalies.
  • Provide proactive callouts for emerging issues through established communication channels.
  • Review deployment activity and identify failures, anomalies, or trends requiring investigation.
  • Support morning operational readiness reviews and communicate findings to DSRE, DRE, and CDET teams.
  • Monitor critical eCommerce systems and identify early indicators of instability before customer impact occurs.
  • Review operational dashboards and correlate findings across monitoring platforms.
  • Assist with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations by gathering supporting diagnostics, system data, and timelines.
  • Document findings, recurring issues, and operational runbooks.
  • Identify opportunities to automate health checks, reporting, and operational reviews.
  • Support continuous improvement of monitoring, alerting, and operational readiness processes.
  • Act as an operational extension of engineers currently performing manual daily reviews and callouts.

What Do You Need To Bring:

  • 5-6 years of experience in Site Reliability, Production Operations, Application Support, or a similar engineering role.
  • Experience with observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Splunk, FullStory, Grafana, or equivalent tools.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud-native environments.(AWS,GCP,Preferred - Azure)
  • Experience reviewing production incidentsand operational support tickets.
  • Strong troubleshooting and issue triage skills.
  • Understanding of application architectures, APIs, microservices, and web technologies.
  • Ability to correlate information across multiple monitoring platforms.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively identify issues.
  • Experience supporting highly available customer-facing applications.

Nice to Have:

  • eCommerce platform experience.
  • Experience supporting operational monitoring teams.
  • Basic scripting experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Experience with AI-enabled incident analysis or operational automation.
